Farmers Best changed hands to a new owner, Jon Ramaekers. Farmers Best Popcorn was started in Rockwell City, Iowa by Tom and Diane Decker. Jon and Jenna Ramaekers now run Farmers Best in Worthington, Iowa.

Jon grew up in Carroll, Iowa and following his graduation from DMACC in Ankeny, Iowa he moved to Worthington, Iowa to chase his dreams of taking over the family farm. His great-grandfather, grandfather, and uncle all ran the family farm on East Worthington Road. Jon purchased the family farm in early 2022 making him a fourth generation farmer of an 80-year-old crop farm! He produces corn, soybeans, hay, and popcorn in the rolling hills of north-east Iowa. 

Jenna Ramaekers

  

Jenna grew up in Lake View, Iowa and following her graduation from UNI in Cedar Falls, Iowa she moved to Worthington, Iowa to follow her future husband. She proceeded to teach for four years at Monticello Middle School. At the end of the 2022 school year she left teaching to assist Jon in running Farmers Best. She has a variety of responsibilities including sales, packaging, bookkeeping, social media, farming, and more.

Farmers Best Popcorn is located in Worthington, Iowa. This small town has nearly 400 residents. Worthington is a true example of a small town Iowa farming community, with the farms in the area taking up much more space than the city itself. Farmers Best Popcorn is grown on the north side of East Worthington Road about a mile outside of town.
